Manage a complex international AI data platform programme: coordinate stakeholders across time zones, capture and translate partner data requirements, support MOUs/procurement/legal workflows, track KPIs and dashboards, run analyses, and keep leadership and funders informed on programme status and risks.

Develop, train, fine-tune and evaluate multilingual and multimodal LLMs; build scalable multilingual text data pipelines; support large-scale distributed training, experiment tracking and compute optimisation; reproduce and translate research into production improvements; create reusable training/evaluation assets and deployment-ready components; collaborate with academic and industry partners and support community outreach.

Operate and maintain the Data Platform across GCP and AWS, ensuring reliability, security, cost and performance. Manage IaC and CI/CD, run incident response and post-mortems, operate central data management (pipelines, storage, catalogues, access controls), improve observability and automation, and apply AI tools to streamline ops and tooling.

Provide executive administrative, coordination, and secretariat support to the Centre Director and research team: manage schedules; organise meetings, workshops and events with agendas and minutes; support research finance recordkeeping and contract renewals; assist recruitment and exchange student administration; liaise with university offices, collaborators, and funders; maintain accurate records and drive administrative process improvements to ensure smooth Centre operations.

Fabricate integrated photonic devices end-to-end in a shared cleanroom, operate lithography, etch, deposition and bonding processes, perform substrate thinning/packaging, and run device characterization and failure analysis. Maintain CD control and adhere to cleanroom safety and SOPs while collaborating with project teams.

Lead operational management and external communications for an integrated-photonics research programme. Coordinate projects, budgets, grants and partnerships; manage schedules, reporting and stakeholder relationships; run PR, website content, presentations, media and events to raise the group's profile and support research impact.

Teach and conduct research within the School, jointly supervise graduate students, and advise and mentor junior faculty, contributing to high-quality scholarship and academic leadership.

The Research Engineer will design and automate end effectors for manufacturing, conduct tests, and contribute to system improvements.
