About the Role

A Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for executing AIA’s HNW strategies and increasing AIA’s HNW market share through brokers channel, driving sales and business development activities by building strong rapport and relationships with international brokers/banks, and delivering high level of quality service and support to forge strong partnership and sales growth.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work closely with Head of Brokerage to develop an appropriate business plan to achieve sales target for the distribution channel.

  • A self-starter in working to deepen relationships with partners through regular engagements and understanding their selling behavior.

  • Keep abreast of evolving market conditions and competitions to develop appropriate strategies in meeting sales targets.

  • Design and develop concepts, sales, and training materials with support from Distribution and Marketing.

  • Conduct product and concept/sales training through individual and group training sessions, seminars/webinars, workshops, and meetings.

  • Work with partners to establish performance measurements and service level commitments.

  • Prepare for new product rollouts and ensure proper alignment with the partners’ goals and objectives to achieve a productive partnership.

  • Plan, design, and manage expenses of sales campaigns & activities within allocated budgets.

  • Manage partners’ enquiries & case submissions and work with internal stakeholders to ensure service levels are met.

  • Meet activity goals identified by the Head of Brokerage and Chief Partnership Distribution officer.

  • Achieve VoNB targets for the Brokerage channel and ensure achievement of 100% planned activities at zero overrun.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Management / Banking & Finance.

  • Minimum 7 years of sales or business development experience in insurance, banking or finance industry. Experience in the HNW international broker space is highly preferred.

  • Attained CLI, ILP, HI, FNA qualifications or equivalent e.g. M5, M9.

  • Strong knowledge of life insurance as a wealth planning tool and its implementation in the HNW market.

  • Good understanding on the types of HNW life insurance products such as Universal Life, Indexed Universal Life, Variable Universal Life, HNW whole of Life & savings plans.

  • Highly motivated and pro-active in generating productive engagement with partners so that to create sales opportunities for AIA’s solutions.

  • Experienced in case management of HNW cases.

  • Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to create and deliver effective presentations, seminars and workshops.

  • Expected to maintain knowledge of existing AIA products, new or enhanced AIA products and existing AIA marketing campaigns; to be on top of competitive environment (new products/services and/or sales campaign launch).

  • Strong selling, interpersonal and relationship cultivation skills.
