Introduce Soitec and context of the position

The RF-SOI Business Line is Soitec's leading revenue contributor, providing the engineered substrates behind the radio-frequency front-end of virtually every smartphone in the world. To sustain and expand this position, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive the adoption of RF-SOI (and adjacent engineered substrates) across the fabless ecosystem.

You will own the top of our business funnel — from identifying companies that could benefit from SOI technology, through first engagement, to the point where a fabless customer commits to an evaluation with our foundry partners. You are the frontline interface between the Business Line and fabless accounts, ensuring customer pain points shape Soitec's product and technology roadmap.

What does the job consist?

As Business Development Senior Manager, you drive business development activities with fabless customers and ecosystem partners, from opportunity identification to design-win, to expand the Business Line's footprint and revenue base.

In your role, you act as the frontline interface between the BL and fabless accounts, aligning customer pain points with Soitec's product and technology roadmap.

This means the following responsibilities :

Market & customer development

  • Maintain extensive knowledge of foundry technologies and offers relevant to RF-SOI.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities in the fabless ecosystem (RF, connectivity, IoT, automotive, satellite communications…), in coordination with end-market teams.
  • Map key fabless players, decision-makers, design houses and module makers; contribute to the Fabless/Foundry ecosystem mapping.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships that remove barriers to SOI adoption.
  • Build scorecards of existing solutions and technologies for target applications, to confirm Soitec's strategic fit.
  • Capture customer needs, pain points and market trends, and feed them back into Business Line strategy.
  • Own the top of the sales funnel (Suspect → Prospect → Evaluation), ensuring clear stage progression and reliable volume estimates, before handover to Sales at the qualification stage.

Internal coordination

  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing and Sales to ensure consistent customer positioning.
  • Monitor prototyping, sampling and qualification plans for fabless opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Marketing and MarCom on promotional material (white papers, conferences, technical events).
  • Contribute to the Business Line's long-term roadmap by highlighting market shifts, new use cases, pain points and ecosystem trends.

Requirements & qualifications

Engineering degree or equivalent in electronics, semiconductor physics or a related field; a business qualification is a plus. 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, ideally spanning RF front-end, foundry or fabless environments.

Solid understanding of the fabless–foundry business model and of RF product architectures (switches, LNAs, antenna tuners, front-end modules…).

Proven ability to open doors: prospecting, building executive-level relationships, and converting technical interest into concrete evaluations.

Structured and autonomous: you document your pipeline, your hypotheses and your market analyses so the organization builds on them.

Fluent English (working language); Mandarin a strong plus given the ecosystem footprint.

Willingness to travel internationally (Asia, US) on a regular basis.
