Job Profile Summary:
In this role, you will assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies. As part of this dynamic role, you will report to Lead, Underwriting Consultant, New Business and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate the risk and exposures of potential clients

Job Description:
• Assess medical and financial risks of applicants and lives to be assured for life and health insurance applications
• Make decisions, within the given authority, that are consistent with underwriting standards and compatible with market trends
• Review cases with complex medical conditions and multiple risk factors
• Process the insurance applications end-to-end
• Provide support and services to Financial Consultants on matters relating to underwriting
• Face to face service interaction with the sales team at PruBusiness Centre on New Business matter
• Be involved in ad hoc tasks assigned by Team Lead

Who we are looking for:
Competencies & Personal Traits
• Sound knowledge of medical conditions, insurance laws & regulations
• Good understanding of insurance products
• Customer-oriented, with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Confident in problem solving and decision making
• Proficient in MS Office

Working Experience
• At least 4 years of experience in life underwriting

Professional Qualifications & Education
• Relevant industry qualifications are an asset
