The Senior Underwriting Specialist assesses life and health insurance applications, liaises with sales channels and reinsurers, and provides underwriting-related support.
Senior Underwriter / Senior Executive – NB UW
- Assess and underwrite life and health insurance applications (new business and policy servicing) and decide if the risk can be accepted
- Explain underwriting decisions and requirements to the sales channels
- Provide service support and liaison for the sales channels
- Assist the sales channels on their queries related to underwriting requirements and underwriting decision
- Liaise with reinsurers on complex cases or refer cases to reinsurer if sum at risk exceeds treaty limits
- Check and sign off underwriting requirement letters and special terms letters prior to release
- To be involved in adhoc duties or projects related to underwriting
Requirements:
- At least a diploma or degree
- A degree in Insurance or Biomedical Science or Life Science would be an added advantage
- At least 5 years of experience in life and health underwriting
- Experience in Singapore life insurance market will be preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Committed, take ownership and results-driven
