[What the role is]

Technical Executive / Senior Technical Executive (School of Design)

[What you will be working on]

·       Provide technical/mentorship support to students, staff and lecturers in the fabrication workshop, which includes but not limiting to wood, metal and plastic works and its machines

·       Curate, conduct or assist in the delivery of classes/courses for different stakeholders

·       Support the introduction of new workshop equipment and undertake training as appropriate

·       Manage assets and participate in related activities associating with assets

·       Manage procurement for classes, events/activities and the fabrication workshop

·       Conduct periodic review of fabrication workshop processes and procedures to optimal operational efficacy

·       Manage the operations and maintenance of various equipment in the fabrication workshop

·       Assess and adhere to total workplace health and safety, ensuring all aspects meet requirements from SCDF, NEA WSH, ISO etc.

·       Support school, TP level and other official events/activities (e.g. Open House, Design Show)

[What we are looking for]

·       Relevant experience in the field of Design Crafting/Fabrication

·       Experience as a craftsman/maker and/or similar role in a professional setting

·       Proficiency in working with a variety of materials such as wood, metal, fabric, and/or composites

·       Proficient in 2D/3D design software to manage various functions of the fabrication workshop

·       IT savvy, preferably with knowledge of 2D/3D design related software and 3D printing applications

·       Ability to generate designs, experiment/prototype, and fabricate

·       Creative individual who is curious, self-driven, has good attention to detail, and keen to experiment

·       Able to multi-task, work under pressure, and manage stakeholder demands professionally

·       Good communication skills, and able to work well both in a team and independently

·       Candidates familiar with procurement procedures would be advantageous
