Strategic Investor Relations & Communications Advisor (1 year contract)
Job Description
The Advisor will act as a strategic partner to management, supporting the development and execution of the company’s corporate communications and investor engagement strategy. The role focuses on strengthening alignment between strategy and market/public perception, shaping the company’s long-term positioning with the investment community, and ensuring effective, consistent communication to all stakeholders.To help develop core narratives that position SingPost both for the investor and media community during this transitional period.
A highly experienced professional to provide expert guidance and hands-on support in managing the present complex and sensitive communication challenges faced by SingPost. This role requires the ability to develop core narratives and execute a comprehensive strategy during a critical period of transition and future strategy development. The duties are structured to address the specific issues SingPost is facing across all stakeholder groups.
1. Strategic Narrative Development:
Develop and refine core narratives across Comms & IR to guide the overarching communications and investor relations framework during this period of transition and future strategy development.
Collaborate with existing Communications and Investor Relations teams to create and implement a comprehensive and unified communications strategy for both internal and external stakeholders.
Focus on rebuilding trust, repositioning the company’s narrative, and developing core messaging around the new business strategy, property portfolio, and domestic operations.
2. Investor Relations Advisory:
Shape and refine the company’s investment thesis, ensuring it reflects the long-term strategy, operating model, and value creation framework.
Advise and support the development of key messages, positioning, and overall approach for all investor-facing matters.
Offer perspectives on market reaction to corporate actions (M&A, restructuring, major projects) and recommend positioning strategies.
Review and edit all investor communications materials, to ensure clarity and consistency.
Draft Q&A documents for senior management and the board to use during corporate announcements (such as results and corporate development news) and key events like the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Monitor and synthesise analyst research reports, news, and market trends to provide timely insights to the Communications and Investor Relations teams.
3. Media Relations Advisory:
In developing the present and future strategy narrative, provide expert counsel to the media relations team on developing media materials, answering press questions, and preparing senior executives for interviews and background briefings.
Work to shape positive public perception and proactively mitigate negative media coverage.
Anticipate emerging issues and advise on proactive communication strategies to protect and enhance the company’s reputation
4. Corporate Content Development:
Support the team’s exploration and plans for creating a new content hub on SingPost.com, guiding the strategy and formation of a site for content marketing, particularly for B2B audiences.
Craft compelling, consistent, and digestible corporate narratives that clearly explain SingPost’s value proposition and future potential to diverse audiences, including employees, media, and investors.
5. Executive Leadership Support:
Help advise the incoming CEO and other senior executives on IR and Comms matters, including analyst and media briefings, public appearances etc.
6. As Team lead: People Development & Culture
Responsible for the team’s categories by ensuring coverage and balance workload and timelines for the scope of work within the team that he/she manages
Build a competent team via coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance, including being the escalation channel in the handling of difficult stakeholders and/or complex/exceptional procurement cases
Inculcate continuous training to upskill and drive a high performing team, and inculcate SingPost values as part of our DNA
Drive collaboration and cohesiveness within the smaller and wider teams
Requirements
Bachelor of Communications/Arts/Marketing/Media, or related field
At least 15 years of solid business journalism with strong financial literacy
Analytical and Strategic Thinking: The ability to see patterns and trends in market data, combined with a keen problem solver mindset, is essential. The candidate needs to develop a communications strategy that is data-driven and addresses the core concerns of investors and the public.
Investor Relations and Financial Acumen: A deep understanding of financial markets and the language of finance is non-negotiable. The candidate must be able to comprehend and articulate the company's financial performance and strategy to a sophisticated investor audience.
Resilience and Crisis Management: The candidate must be able to handle high-pressure situations and negative public sentiment with grace and professionalism. The role requires a calm and steady hand to guide the company's communication through a period of significant upheaval.
Proactive and Self-Driven: This role requires a candidate who can take initiative and lead the efforts with minimal direction. They need to have good organisational skills and a self-starter who can build a communications strategy from the ground up.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build rapport and trust with senior executives board members, media, and analysts is key
