APAC Regional Tax Manager

As the APAC Regional Tax Manager, you will be the point of contact for all tax matters across the Asia-Pacific region. In this role you will have a lot of freedom, initiate and/or drive tax projects in the region that are aligned with Adyen's growth and tax strategy. 

Reporting to the Global Head of Tax this role is based at our head office in Amsterdam or our regional APAC office in Singapore. You will work closely with your colleagues in other tax areas and partner up with Group Finance, Regulatory, Legal and the broader business.

What you'll do

  • Manage our APAC tax set-up, day to day tax matters, and work independently on projects to ensure that the regional tax structure is well set up for our continued growth and global expansion
  • Serve as a point of contact for the APAC region and all APAC tax matters
  • Look after the APAC tax aspects of our (new) products
  • Manage tax audits, as and when they arise 
  • Optimize and streamline regional operational tax processes
  • Automate manual tasks to ensure that the APAC tax function (incl. related compliance) is as efficient as possible
  • Manage Indirect taxes, Corporate Tax and Withholding Tax 
  • Review and automate tax provisions and review APAC tax returns
  • Monitor changes in local tax laws and assessing their impact on the business
  • Manage projects with both internal and external stakeholders

Who you are

  • You have a background in Tax or Accounting
  • You’re passionate about all things APAC tax and love to share your knowledge in a simple and non-complex way with non-tax colleagues
  • You have experience with working on APAC tax matters
  • Solid understanding of either direct tax, indirect tax and withholding tax in major APAC jurisdictions - or willingness to learn new jurisdictions
  • You take ownership and enjoy driving multiple projects involving a wider range of stakeholders
  • You’ve experience with tax accounting or are willing to learn
  • You have excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate tax into practical and scalable business solutions
  • You have a mindset of constantly improving, automating and scaling
  • You’re a team player and gain a lot of energy from working together with a broad group of colleagues to achieve Adyen’s goals
  • In-house experience as regional manager or experience at a regulated financial institution is a plus
  • Experience with India tax matters is a plus
