Pre-Doctoral Research Assistant / Research Associate

Supports faculty-led academic research through literature reviews, dataset collection and management, quantitative or qualitative analysis, survey and experimental research, and preparation of reports, manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals. The role also involves research documentation, ethics applications, collaboration with faculty and doctoral students, and participation in scholarly activities.
The Nanyang Business School is seeking a Pre-Doctoral Researcher to support faculty-led research projects across various business and management disciplines. This position provides a unique opportunity for individuals considering future doctoral studies to gain hands-on experience in academic research.
Key responsibilities:
- Support faculty members in the execution of ongoing research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesise academic findings from relevant research publications.
- Collect, clean, validate, and manage research datasets from various sources.
- Perform quantitative and/or qualitative data analyses using appropriate research tools and methodologies.
- Assist in the development of research reports, working papers, journal manuscripts, conference presentations, and grant proposals.
- Support survey development, experimental studies, field research, and data collection activities where applicable.
- Prepare research documentation, data dictionaries, research protocols, and project records.
- Assist with ethics review applications and regulatory compliance requirements where necessary.
- Participate in research seminars, workshops, and scholarly activities organised by the School.
- Collaborate with faculty, doctoral students, and research teams on assigned projects.
- Perform other research-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline; candidates from diverse academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Strong interest in academic research and research-oriented careers.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; proficiency in R, Python, Stata, SQL, or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-intensive environment.
- Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and committed to continuous learning.
