About Hub Strategy
Hub Strategy is responsible for developing and executing national strategies to strengthen Singapore’s value propositions as a business hub by (i) attracting headquarters, (ii) facilitating international organisations (IOs) which support industry development across government and (iii) enhancing connectivity.
You will be part of the team which focuses on enhancing connectivity. This includes activities such as industry studies, statistical analysis, programme and policy development and execution, and engaging with public and private sector stakeholders.
You will report to an Assistant Vice President in Hub Strategy.

[What you will be working on]

In this role, you will:

  • Sense: You will conduct in-depth analysis of global trends, including supply chains, global connectivity hubs, regulations, business models and demands, and technology, to derive insights and implications for Singapore’s hub development strategies. This will be conducted using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data such as meetings, desktop research, commissioned studies, and economic and employment data.

  • Develop: You will develop and implement value propositions and programmes that enhance Singapore’s people and goods connectivity, to encourage targeted foreign investment in Singapore and support long term local industry development. You will work closely with other teams in EDB and partners in government and industry to develop and implement these programmes.

  • Execute: You will implement strategies, policy changes and industry development programmes by working closely with internal stakeholders as well as industry and government agency partners.

You will be responsible for leading workstreams in Hub Strategy and will also have opportunities to exercise peer leadership in inter-divisional and inter-agency working groups.​

[What we are looking for]

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a strategy, consulting, policy, research or industry development role 

  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking - able to structure analysis for complex / ambiguous issues, using qualitative and quantitative data, to make sense of new subject matter to distil insights and actionable solutions

  • Keen business acumen – able to identify opportunities for Singapore at an industry level

  • Excellent project management and leadership skills – able to lead cross-functional projects, manage multiple workstreams with autonomy, and deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – able to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority

  • Adaptable – able to identify and repond quickly to changes in the business environment and changes in priorities

  • Organised – able to establish and run processes and workflows for projects in a structured manner

  • Good team player and an independent thinker

  • Candidates with any of the following will have an advantage:

    • Experience in quantitative analysis

    • Experience in strategy development and execution

    • Experience with project management
