The opportunity:

The HSE Lead will lead a team of HSE Specialists within the Service Business Unit to drive, improve, and sustain exemplary Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance and culture. The Lead will act as a trusted business partner, applying in-depth HSE expertise to deliver strategic solutions and practical advice and facilitate seamless collaboration with Hub and BU stakeholders, ensuring robust risk management and HSE excellence across the entire value chain.
 

How you’ll make an impact

  • You will report HSE incidents, feedback on lessons learned and best practices from your own unit across the organization, and report on the implementation of Group Sustainability objectives and KPIs to the corporate and Business Unit levels as required.

  • You will implement HSE policies and standards, ensure your area of responsibility is thoroughly audited, and assist line managers and supervisors in understanding their legal obligations and liabilities under local HSE law and company instructions.

  • You will facilitate comprehensive HSE risk assessments led by line management—including project teams, site personnel, contractors, and workmen—while executing fundamental evaluations such as environmental aspect and impact assessments.

  • You will drive behavioral changes by implementing performance improvement programs and sharing local best practices to cultivate an exemplary health, safety, and environmental culture across the organization.

  • You will engage internal and external stakeholders (including customers and suppliers) to raise awareness, gain commitment on HSE efforts, collaborate with the CoE and business partners, and coach all levels of staff to establish a preventative safety culture.

  • You will participate in defining the annual budget for your area, manage performance against agreed targets, execute HSE and Corporate Responsibility (CR) projects, and ensure the team is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled, and developed.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or a dedicated Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.

  • You hold a valid Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) license

  • You bring a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the HSE field, with deep technical knowledge of Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) and country-specific legislation.

  • You possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholder perspectives, drive engagement, and collaborate across functional operational teams to build a safe work environment.

  • You have expert knowledge of workplace risk assessment methodologies, environmental aspect/impact evaluations, and a proven track record of conducting thorough incident investigations.

  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with full proficiency in professional English and the ability to deliver clear presentations and demonstrations and are highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
