Lead and shape global engineering strategy for Emerson's Isolation Valves portfolio. Manage a geographically distributed engineering organization focused on order execution, engineered-to-order projects, product development, lifecycle management, and process standardization. Align engineering priorities with business goals, optimize resources and budgets, implement performance metrics and capacity planning, and develop a high-performing, inclusive engineering culture.

Emerson's Isolation Valves business is looking for a senior engineering executive to lead and continue building our globally dispersed engineering organization across our Ball Valve, Butterfly Valve, and Knife Gate Valve portfolios.

This is fundamentally an organizational and people leadership role. You will be measured on your ability to strengthen the engineering organization, grow and support engineering centers across multiple countries, deepen knowledge transfer, and build sustainable, high-performing teams — not on deep technical specialization in valve design.

Candidates with a strong background in industrial mechanical products and manufacturing environments (flow control, pumps, rotating equipment, industrial equipment) are strongly preferred; direct valve design experience is not required.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead the ongoing organizational design and development of a globally dispersed engineering organization spanning multiple countries and engineering centers — including team development, functional alignment, and capability building in emerging locations.

  • Strengthen and grow engineering centers globally, with deliberate focus on knowledge transfer, succession planning, and building sustainable, high-performing teams for the long term.

  • Provide strategic leadership to align global engineering priorities with business objectives and customer needs, partnering closely with World Area leadership and cross-functional teams across regions and time zones.

  • Develop, coach, and supports engineering talent by fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability — across cultures, geographies, and functions.

  • Oversee the engineering organization's structure, workforce planning, and budget, balancing near-term execution (order and engineered-to-order execution, product development, lifecycle management) with long-term organizational capability.

  • Establish clear performance visibility through meaningful metrics, dashboards, and capacity planning tools to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Drive consistency, efficiency, and scalability through the alignment of engineering tools, systems, and processes across regions and product lines.

Who You Are
You are a strategic organizational and people leader first — your engineering background gives you credibility, but your value comes from how you design organizations, develop leaders, and strengthen team performance, not from doing the engineering yourself. You have led teams spanning multiple countries and cultures, not just multiple sites within one region or time zone, and you know how to build trust and alignment across distance. You think globally, readily distinguishing what's relevant from what's noise in complex, ambiguous situations. You build effective teams by leveraging the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and strengths of others to achieve shared goals, and you use insight and data to prioritize work and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment. You continually seek better ways of working, identifying opportunities to improve through thoughtful, incremental refinement.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

  • 18+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including significant, demonstrated experience in organizational design and evolving engineering organizations over time (team development, functional alignment, site growth or expansion, knowledge transfer).

  • Experience leading engineering organizations in an industrial manufacturing environment involving engineered products, flow control solutions, industrial equipment, valves, pumps, rotating equipment, or related industries.

  • Proven experience leading engineering organizations of significant scale across multiple countries or regions simultaneously — global leadership spanning cultures and time zones, not experience concentrated within a single country or region.

  • Strong track record of delivering results in a highly matrixed organization, navigating competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to assess complex situations, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement sustainable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience leading engineering teams within the industrial valves, flow control, process equipment, or related industrial manufacturing sectors.

  • Knowledge of product development, product lifecycle management, and engineering operations within manufacturing environments.

  • Master's degree or MBA.
