Job Overview

The Associate Director / Director, APAC Finance role is responsible for leading overseeing the financial operations, and reporting, planning & controls, and business partnering across Hoffman’s Asia Pacific region. This role is expected to build on the existing finance foundation, strengthen regional governance and reporting discipline, and elevate Finance functions from operational support to continue providing proactive strategic business partner for market and regional leadership. The successful candidate should bring strong regional exposure, sound commercial judgment, hands-on finance expertise, and the ability to develop finance talent, lead change, providing financial guidance and insights to support decision-making and drive the successful adoption of new global ERP system across APAC business performance.

 

Understanding of PR Agency or other Client Servicing Environments, and Technology:

  • Strong technical knowledge of finance, and accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and control knowledge
  • Proven leadership skills with and the maturity to coach, develop, and empower finance teams across multiple markets
  • Strong understanding of agency business drivers, client profitability, utilization, pricing, revenue recognition, and commercial performance
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions for senior stakeholders. Possess tactical skills and motivation to grow in corresponding finance-related areas
  • Candidates with industry knowledge of public communications (PR), integrated marketing communications (IMC), digital, and the application of AI would have an added advantage.
  • Change-management mindset with the ability to improve processes, embed controls, and drive system adoption across markets
  • Be open-minded and willing to learn the inner workings of a PR and IMC agency
  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing negotiation skills with good leadership
  • Ability to provide business insights and best practices through clear practice via narratives, dashboards, and or visual formats based on available data-driven analysis or reports from the Agency

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, accounting and FP&A for the Asia Pacific business and be commercial acumen
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, financial analysis, that continues to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Provide clear leadership, coaching, and accountability to regional and market finance teams, strengthening ownership, capability, and collaboration across APAC. Manage the regional finance team and provide leadership, guidance, and professional development
  • Implement and maintain robust financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate finance requirements
  • Partner with market and regional leadership team to understand business operational and strategic priorities, and translate them into effective financial plans, KPIs, and actionable performance insights
  • Conduct financial and operational reviews to identify risks, improvement opportunities, profitability drivers, and drive cost optimization initiatives
  • Liaise with global finance on consolidation alignment, treasury management, tax planning, and other centralized finance functions
  • Act as a proactive strategic business partner to leadership team, providing financial insight and decision support to improve business performance
  • Lead the successful adoption, and ongoing optimization of new global ERP system across APAC, ensuring effective change management, process adoption, data discipline, and alignment with regional and global finance requirements
  • Strengthen the finance operating model by building scalable processes, improving team capability, and embedding consistent standards across markets

Reports to CFO and EVP of Global Operations

Key Internal/External Relationships:

  • APAC Leadership Team
  • Regional Finance Team
  • Local Finance Teams
  • APAC Operations Teams (Finance, People and Culture, and IT colleagues)
  • CPA; Finance associations and networks

Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional accounting qualification is preferred
  • Minimum of eight to ten years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably within a multinational or regional environment
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams across multiple markets. Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proven FP&A, reporting, financial analysis, and business partnering capability.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with finance system implementation or ERP adoption is highly desirable
  • Fluency in English and preferably other regional languages
  • Experience working in the Asia Pacific region is a MUST
