About this role

Business:

The Wealth team is responsible for understanding market trends and client needs across Asia-Pacific’s diverse Wealth markets and translating these into commercial opportunities for our business. The team works with regional distributors and banks, as well as global private banks and insurers to offer the full range of BlackRock mutual funds, ETFs and alternatives products.

We partner with clients to build custom solutions that meet their specific needs, while offering model portfolios and discretionary investment offerings backed by our market-leading in-house technology and risk analytics. The team sits across Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia and Japan, and works closely with colleagues around the globe to deliver the best of BlackRock to APAC Wealth investors.

About this role:

This Analyst role works closely with the Head of APAC Strategic Clients and Business Development to facilitate client relationships and account management of the APAC Strategic Partner Program (SPP) and Focus Client Program (FCP) assisting on key commercial initiatives across APAC with our most strategic clients.

The role is focused on supporting enterprise-level engagement across APAC clients. The individual will be encouraged to work on key opportunities that use BlackRock’s multi- capabilities to enable this.

The individual will support the sourcing, assessing, and execution of strategic investments and partnerships based on BlackRock’s strategic priorities. Sales & Relationship Management is responsible for developing and leading pursuit plans, and preparing proposals for current and potential clients. Activities may include supervising industry, market, client, and regulatory trends, and engaging in networking activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination of BlackRock’s engagements with our most strategic clients, partnering with Wealth Market Leads & Sales teams on key commercial initiatives across APAC

  • Support the Head of APAC Strategic Clients and Business Development on delivering multi-capability partnerships to strategic clients across the region

  • Responsible for day to day management of sales support activities across the team

  • Partner closely with different internal departments, including legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless client relationship operations

  • Drive strategic planning process, implement process innovations and ensure policies and procedures are adhered to

  • Responsible for providing performance data to clients, answering clients questions / queries on products and other sales related matters

  • Perform due diligence on clients and facilitate on boarding of new funds

  • Preparation of sales decks and presentation materials for the sales team

  • Work closely with APAC Marketing team for new products and campaign launches as the need arises

  • Partner closely with different internal departments, including compliance and operations teams for project coordination on an ongoing basis

  • Production of regular internal reports to the team head. Conduct analysis on the reports and identify potential problem situations, trends, and improvement opportunities. Initiate changes to processing as needed.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years proven experience in investment management / wealth management industry

  • Sound knowledge in financial markets / mutual funds and ETF

  • Proficient in written and spoken English required. Ability to speak other languages is a plus.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in related field

  • Established track record in a relevant role.

  • Strong communication and relationship leadership skills.

  • Understanding of product set – listed and unlisted funds, and the competitive landscape.

  • A strong contributor with the ability to remain calm when delivering in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and challenging demands.

  • The ability to optimally manage projects and influence stakeholders; results oriented and able to “roll-up the sleeves” in order to accomplish vital tasks.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and build credible positive relationships with peers, partners and senior colleagues.

  • Self-motivated individual, with a dedication to perfection.

  • Acute attention to detail, highly organised and high-energy self-starting individual

  • Multi-tasking effectively and ability to work in a team environment is critical.

  • Strong team player, who can collaborate credibly internally in order to demonstrate the Firm’s resources locally as well as globally
