This role is within the ESG Finance Department (EFD), Asian Investment Banking Division. You will closely work with the APAC Head of ESG Market Intelligence to keep track of a fast-evolving regional ESG landscape and deliver high quality ESG insights to drive growth for MUFG’s ESG and sustainable business in Asia and Oceania. We are looking for a high performing individual to join our commitments to  support a smooth transition to a decarbonized society, and create a sustainable society.

Primary responsibilities

  • Ability to create and deliver high quality research presentations (in both .ppt format and .doc)

  • Collect, manage, and analyse market data and information related to ESG and energy transition policies in Asia Pacific

  • Collect and keep track of policy and regulatory developments related to key decarbonization technologies

  • Keep up to date of the key Sustainable Finance developments globally and how they apply to APAC (e.g. updating of standards of ICMA/ APLMA for Sustainable Finance)

  • Monitor developments of key political, economic, and regulatory developments related to the Asia countries and major industries’ decarbonization pathways across sectors

  • Track progress of major decarbonization projects

  • Develop a compelling visualization presentation material

  • Spearheading and supporting research and analysis from various sources of information including market public domain and world-class datasets leveraging from internal global network to create insightful research on development of energy transition policy, carbon offsets, new energy developments in the region and other ESG developments in the region.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor / Master’s degree in any discipline

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in research and data gathering in ESG

  • Familiarity with policy or technologies development related to energy sectors with strong interest in ESG and climate change

  • Experience PowerPoint, Excel and Presentation skills

  • Strong analytical skill with ability to structure deliverables in a coherent manner and create visually impactful insights/ findings as reports and presentations

  • Excellent English language communication and stakeholder management skills to successfully collaborate with other departments and team members cohesively

  • Good knowledge of corporate banking products and services

  • Effective time management and a detail-oriented

  • Strong Project management skills with the ability to structure deliverables in a coherent manner

  • Proficient is Japanese language is added advantage
