What you’ll achieve

As a Technical Staff AI Application Engineer, you will be the senior technical authority for AI-assisted engineering within Dell’s solution platform development. You will define the architectural vision, frameworks, and governance for embedding AI-driven automation and development practices across multiple product lines. Your role focuses on enabling large-scale adoption of AI-assisted engineering to improve productivity, quality, and speed, while ensuring consistency and security across Dell’s engineering ecosystem.

You will:

  • Define and own the architecture and standards for AI-assisted engineering across Dell solution platforms, develop frameworks and governance models for integrating AI tools (e.g., code generation, intelligent testing, automated documentation) into software development workflows at scale.

  • Lead the design of cross-platform automation systems leveraging AI for CI/CD, quality assurance, and developer productivity.

  • Solve the most complex technical challenges related to AI-enabled engineering, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and compliant with enterprise standards.

  • Partner with senior architects and product leaders to align AI-assisted engineering capabilities with Dell’s platform strategy and delivery objectives.

  • Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across multiple business units, driving adoption of best practices and continuously assess emerging AI technologies and recommend strategic adoption to maintain Dell’s engineering excellence.

Essential Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field with 15+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering or platform development.

  • Proven track record of architecting and governing large-scale engineering systems with strong focus on automation and quality.

  • Deep expertise in cloud-native platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise software delivery.

  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and integrating LLM-based services into engineering workflows.

  • Exceptional ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and drive alignment on architectural decisions.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience implementing AI-driven automation frameworks for testing, security, or performance optimization at scale.

  • Familiarity with virtualization and hypervisor technologies, especially VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, and related ecosystem components.

  • Knowledge of hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) and enterprise storage solutions, including VMware vSAN and Dell PowerStore.

  • Understanding of network virtualization and SDN technologies, particularly VMware NSX, including concepts like VXLAN, distributed switching, and micro-segmentation.

  • Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift for container orchestration and integration with virtualized environments.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm) and CI/CD practices for enterprise environments.
