The Role

The zone category manager is responsible for developing the turnover and profitability of ranges/services while respecting the CO2 trajectory

He/she frames the strategy for bringing products to market in his category,defines the assortments, and coordinates them to offer a unique customer experience


Responsibilities

Define  the market needs for my zone  & prioritize the conquest strategies

  • Analyze & summarize “external” zone market trends, based on data, users observation, consumers expectations & purchasing behavior,  and competitors
  • Listen to and study the major needs in the countries concerned as well as customer behavior
  • Prioritize & align the sports strategies to the market needs of my zone : sports/practices, user segments, customers targets,  marketing priorities 
  • Build and validate omnichannel Y+3 commercialisation strategies for my category in collaboration with relevant stakeholders based on market data 
  • Provide to the basecamp,  the zone priority needs, market insights and countries feedback
  • Build and validate together with supply, digital, sport director, retail a “sustainable category business plan Y+1/ Y+3” in accordance with retail needs & supply strategies.As zone category manager i initialize growth of turnover with the reason to believe in it


Build & select the best offer : Efficient & Performant

  • Validate the country sport strategy  process with the category merchandiser in the zone, framing the assortment Y+1 
  • Define the relevant offer for my zone from the WorldWide catalog considering : 
  • WorldWide  products & services
  • Local passion brand products needs if not covered by WorldWild (in accordance with the Sport entity director)
  • Local referent Other International Brand products & services 
  • Lead the circular offer construction process with the commercial manager, E-cat man, visual & cat merch, supply, SD…and preselect the Other International Brands with SRB buyers/local advisor 
  • Select the zone catalog for all channels, included Other International Brands products & services, from the WorldWide catalog and co-opt the customer journey
  • Build the price scale & adjust the Recommended Retail Price from the WorldWide catalog
  • Ensure the product compliance for the countries of my zone with the conformity team (outside of  Europe, “AMI/OIB Local Offer Quality Requirements”)
  • Present the zone catalog & assortment Y+1 during the milestones "selection" to the countries of my zone, and support local adaptations if needed
  • Ensure the availability of the right ”product & offer contents” from Other International Brands, with the support of SRB,  to enable the zone commercial manager to train referent trainers
  • Suggest to the zone commercial managers relevant products to guarantee commercial dynamism  in anticipation for the selection
  • Support other zones (at their request), by sharing the good practises and skills

Monitor the offer performance 

  • Collaborate with the supply team about the quantities forecast for selected products, especially on risk management on hero products
  • Analyse and present the performance of the offer during the “commercial” TOP/FLOP, and take necessary decisions in collaboration with the project team
  • Participate to QBR and support with offer performances analysis and suggest modifications or adjustments to improve the presentation of the assortment with the objective to optimize the offer profitability
  • Set the offer performance follow up, including range & product diagnostic, available for the stakeholders
