Job Description

The Vice President at United Overseas Bank Ltd will be a key leader, responsible for driving strategic initiatives, managing significant portfolios, and contributing to the bank's overall success and growth. This role demands strong leadership, financial acumen, and a proven track record in the banking sector.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the bank's objectives, focusing on business growth, market share expansion, and profitability.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, providing mentorship, and ensuring professional development.
  • Oversee and optimize significant financial portfolios, including credit, investment, or treasury operations, ensuring adherence to risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to identify new business opportunities and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify emerging trends, assess potential risks, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments (e.g., risk management, legal, operations) to ensure seamless execution of initiatives and projects.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports, analyses, and recommendations to senior management and board members on business performance, strategic direction, and financial outlook.
  • Ensure full compliance with all internal policies, external regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency within assigned areas, implementing new technologies or processes to enhance productivity and service delivery.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in the banking or financial services industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of success in managing large portfolios, driving business growth, and achieving strategic objectives.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, markets, regulations, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity for strategic thinking.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong ethical compass and commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity.
