Job Description

Role Purpose:

The intern will assist in the annual refresh of UOB’s Net Zero Decarbonization Pathway Model. This role is critical to ensuring accurate emissions data, alignment with reference pathways, and timely delivery of model updates for governance clearance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

· Gather emissions intensity data (actual and proxy) from internal and external sources.

· Perform desktop research on client sustainability reports and financial statements for sector-specific data.

· Validate data accuracy and flag discrepancies for review.

· Assist in updating reference pathways and baselines in Excel-based decarbonization models following SOPs.

· Support attribution analysis and derive insights from year-on-year trends.

· Support model methodology refinements.

· Support other responsibilities from Sustainable Business team where possible.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Undergraduate students in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or Data Analytics.

· Strong proficiency in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, data validation).

· Interest in sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives. Knowledge of carbon accounting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, PCAF) is a plus.

· Analytical mindset with attention to detail for large datasets.

· Ability to conduct structured desktop research and summarise findings.

· Strong project and timeline management skills

· Good communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Learning Opportunities:

· Exposure to UOB’s net zero strategy and governance processes.

· Hands-on experience with sectoral decarbonization models and emissions attribution analysis.

· Interaction with senior sustainability leaders and cross-functional teams.
