SUMMARY OF TEAM / DEPARTMENT

The Legal Affairs department works closely with all functions of Income Insurance and its subsidiaries, to provide timely, accurate and practical legal support, while ensuring that the organisation’s and its subsidiaries’ interests are protected.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will give you the opportunity to experience first-hand, life as an in-house legal counsel in a leading composite insurer in Singapore. You will be part of an experienced and dynamic legal team. Join us for an exciting experience and the opportunity to gain insight into the insurance and financial advisory business and exposure to a wide variety of commercial legal matters, including litigation/claims.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Contribute and assist in legal research on a diverse range of legal topics, such as insurance, data protection, intellectual property, regulatory matters (financial and insurance regulatory) under statutes and regulatory guidelines (including the Insurance Act, Financial Advisers Act, Securities and Futures Act, and MAS and industry notices, guidelines and circulars).
  • Assist with advising on insurance claims, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and documents, under the guidance of an experienced in-house counsel.
  • Assist with reviewing marketing and communication materials for brand campaigns and promotion terms and conditions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Law Undergrads with strong academic performance who have completed Year 2 or Year 3 of Bachelor of Laws course
  • Proficient in English 
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent research & drafting skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality work in a timely fashion
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
