The Sponsorship Sales Manager is responsible for business development in the assigned market segment within Media Group. This role will focus on research and identifying new business opportunities and development, pitching and closing new sales, client/ deal negotiation and eventually key customer retention and relationship management. This role is expected to maintain a sales pipeline report and forecast, creating visibility of customer accounts, ability to report market trends for head of department. The role also requires candidate work closely with the product and support teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Sponsorship Sales Manager, Asia, you will:
Monitor the advertising and sponsorship of competitive publications and events
Identify prospects, have the confidence to cold call and communicate effectively on our value propositions clearly and concisely.
A confident presenter with strong presentations skills and familiar with both in-person and virtual go-to-market tools
Ability to identify customers’ pain points quickly and recommend suitable solutions to the customer to create a win-win situation. Throughout the process, provide a high level of customer service, display an ability to build strong relationships and achieve a deep understanding of customers’ commercial objectives and motivations accurately.
A team player who understands conference workflows, and strong interpersonal skills to work closely with various teams to deliver a strong customer experience
Provide timely and accurate sales report, and communicate clearly on pipeline progress, account risk and forecast to head of department
Ability to identify market trends and patterns and to provide a quarterly report sharing these observations with the team.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Sponsorship Sales Manager, Asia if you have the following required qualifications:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Comes from a corporate B2B media (events or publishing) background
Minimum 8 years Individual media sales experience in a relevant industry is a must, ie either in B2B magazine publishing or in an event sponsorship sales environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is a must, advantageous to speak other Asian languages.
Advantageous to have worked within the legal/ compliance/ risk / regulatory communities in Asia.
Ability to learn on the role quickly, pick up industry knowledge and navigate the learning process by connecting with the various industry experts and team members.
Being a self starter with strong ownership and accountability to achieve sales targets independently and quickly
