For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters. Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

What you will do:

The Graduate Solutions Engineer Program is designed to develop the next generation of engineering leaders for smart buildings, data centers, and mission-critical infrastructure. Through a structured rotational program, participants will build deep technical expertise across multiple engineering disciplines while gaining practical experience in energy efficiency, digital technologies, controls, HVAC systems, and mission-critical environments.

During the 18-month rotational program, you will work alongside experienced engineers and subject matter experts, gaining hands-on experience across electrical, mechanical, controls, and digital domains. The program is designed to strengthen core engineering fundamentals, cultivate multidisciplinary problem-solving capabilities, and equip participants with the skills to design and deliver integrated solutions for increasingly complex customer challenges.

How you will do it:

  • Join the BMS Project/Service team to design and implement control programming for new or existing BMS sites, facilitating synergy between electrical control systems and mechanical operations

  • Engage with the HVAC Energy Solution/Service team to perform chiller performance reviews, audit reporting and maintenance, gaining insights that intertwine different components in energy management

  • Contribute as a member of the digital delivery and solution architect team, tasked with implementing and delivering JCI’s OpenBlue digital solutions.

  • Participate in Data Center and mission-critical infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to cooling systems, sustainability initiatives, operational resilience, and optimization strategies.

  • Participate in research projects with external organizations (e.g. Higher Learning Institution, startups) as a part of the JCI Innovation Center

  • Undertaking a full cycle project in the final year of the program

  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to leverage collective expertise and drive innovative solutions in the design and implementation of comprehensive building systems & data center solutions.

  • Receive mentoring and coaching from experienced engineers and industry experts to accelerate technical and professional development.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in both electrical and mechanical fields to ensure solutions remain cutting-edge and relevant

What we look for:

  • Graduating student or recent graduate with a degree background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Infrastructure and Project Management, Urban Systems/Energy Management, or a related field, with up to 2 years of experience.

  • A strong interest in sustainability and a desire to learn and apply concepts related to smart building solutions that encompass multidisciplinary engagements

  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a capability to approach challenges from both electrical and mechanical perspectives.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to facilitate teamwork across engineering disciplines.

  • Able to thrive in a collaborative and dynamic work environment, adapting to evolving project needs.

  • Shortlisted candidates will participate in a video interview and an assessment center to showcase their skills and fit for the role

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary

  • Paid vacation/holidays/sick time

  • Comprehensive benefits package

  • On the job/cross training opportunities

  • Encouraging and collaborative team environment

  • Dedication to safety through our Zero Harm policy
