Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Join the Equities QPS (Quantitative Prime Services) Technology Team in Singapore as a Platform Developer primarily with Java, Python along with Low latency exposure for designing and developing low-latency end-to-end Direct Market Access (DMA) trading platform. You will join a team where the key focus is on building out the functionality and technology of the SubM systems for our flagship low latency product offering for giving low latency to a very niche domain of very high volume and low latency sophisticated Equites trading clients, mostly Hedge funds. In the role , you will design and develop industry-leading,  low-latency Equities trading systems, engage in  holistic simulation and testing of the trading system for high reliability, provide estimates for tasks including design, development, testing, support analysis, testing, operations teams, participate in code reviews and architectural decisions. You will work with business analysts and project managers, analysing for appropriate technical solution and creating a technical specifications ,developing end to end technology solutions, Unit / system / regression / performance testing ,fixing bugs coming out of System / UAT testing , resolving any post-implementation issues, working with SRE team to support DevOps integration, participate  in post-project reviews in order to improve the project lifecycle where necessary. You will be interacting with both senior Front Office Trading and Sales stakeholders across multiple regions. You should be able to understand stakeholder requirements, proactively participate in ongoing product enhancement discussions and provide informed inputs to help shape and evolve those discussions.

 

To be successful in the role, you should have:

 

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in one or more Programming languages like Java, C++ and unit testing practices
  • Good scripting skills using Python, Perl or similar
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Intent to learn new technologies across hardware and software
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts and use cases
  • Understanding of higher-level Computer Science concepts such as data structures and algorithms

 

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in working in the Investment banking, working with directly with Traders and Desk Heads
  • Experience of Core Software Design Principles
  • Exposure to Low latency frameworks / lock free data structures
  • Expertise in computer networks, computer architecture, and operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux
  • Agile software development methodology
