Social Media Manager (APAC) 

12 Months Contract

Maker Lab supports clients across the technology, entertainment, financial services, and payments industries. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Contractor to support our amazing client in the Technology industry.

As a Social Media Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the client’s APAC social media agency and work with their Global Social team to bring innovative and local ideas to life and engage with the audience through compelling relevant content. 

You will partner with the agency to build out monthly content plans and activation ideas across key platforms in Japan, Korea and other APAC markets. You will collaborate with growth marketing, content, designer advocates and the global social team to develop localised content that resonates with diverse audiences, driving engagement and brand awareness. This role is perfect for a social media enthusiast who has a deep understanding of digital trends in the region.

Role: 

  • Collaborate with our APAC social media agency to develop innovative social media strategies that resonate with audiences in key markets like Korea and Japan.
  • Manage the day-to-day social media content calendar, ensuring timely creation, approvals, and scheduling of engaging content.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to amplify regional events and webinars through strategic social media promotion and coverage.
  • Experience with influencer marketing or working with local creators to build brand awareness and engagement.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to analyse performance metrics and optimise social media strategies via Meltwater social listening tool for maximum impact.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of social media quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with our agency partners.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by keeping a pulse on the latest social media trends and insights within the JAPAC region.

You:

  • 5+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in a tech or creative industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends in Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore and India.
  • Experience with content creation tools such as Figma or Adobe Suite.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with social media analytics tools.
  • Passion for design, content, video production, storytelling and community building.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and - ideally - fluent in Japanese or Korean as a second language to cover projects across APAC.
