Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the annual business plan and strategies, monitor progress, and recommend remedial action to achieve business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to maximise influence.
- Lead the attainment of underwriting results for new and existing business.
- Provide technical direction, leadership, and coaching to underwriting professionals.
- Implement and maintain risk control, underwriting systems, and procedures.
- Manage the risk acceptance process within the company's underwriting philosophy.
- Initiate new ideas and concepts to support business plan development.
- Represent the company's interests with internal and external groups.
- Develop technical expertise of underwriting staff and act as a referral point for technical issues.
- Plan, manage, and review employee performance.
Work Experience:
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Management experience required.
- Significant underwriting experience needed.
- Strong customer/broker relationships essential.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- With IIQE or ANZIFF
