Summary
Senior Specialist, Safety resides in the Safety Team within SSSQ Department. Staff reports directly to Assistant Manager, Safety in supporting the effective maintainance and implementation of Safety and Emergency Preparedness Manual and workplace safety and risk management. Staff will also provide support to the safety team in terms other elements of safety management system.Job Description
Safety Risk Management
Process new E-reports by crew or staff submitted through the iSMS portal.
Ensure Reportable Safety Matters (RSM) and Non-RSM reports are categorised and accepted into the system
Timely notification of RSMs to CAAS in accordance with ANR-91.
Oversight of incident / fatigue report assessments and investigation.
Monitor investigation report completion progress.
Assist stakeholders and submitters of their respective assessments and investigations within iSMS portal
External Audit Representation
Conduct Safety/security quality control activities i.e: audits, assessments and inspections on stations
Ensure that safety is represented when auditors from any regulatory organisation is conducting an audit.
Ensure documentation and audit prep is done for Safety portions
Cabin Safety
Develop, document, and maintain cabin safety policies, processes, and procedures through the management of the Safety & Emergency Procedures Manual and related documents
Participate in the implementation of procedural and regulatory change (e.g. Advisory Circulars, SARPS) – input to cabin safety publications, forums, and educational safety campaigns, and where required cabin technical specifications.
Develop, monitor and maintain cabin safety performance indicators, ensuring incidents are investigated and meet mandatory reporting requirements.
Analyse incident root cause, monitor and identify cabin safety trends and hazards, and share with stakeholders for better understanding of operating performance, enable risk assessment and implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and with IOSA ISARPS.
Manage cabin safety related project implementation to drive change and deliver benefits to the business.
Reporting the progress of cabin safety assurance at regular intervals to the appropriate level of management.
Safety Training & Promotion
Acts as an information conduit to bring safety issues to the attention of management and to deliver safety information to the organization’s staff, contractors and stakeholders.
Assist with development and implementation of safety education, training and promotion programs including safety publications, promotional material and communication.
Provides and articulates information regarding safety issues within the organization.
Workplace Safety
Conduct hazards indentification and risk management on workplace safety

Prepare stats for management reporting
Duty Safety Personnel
Holding the duty phone and monitor operation disruptions due safety occurrences.
Manage incident reports and ensure prompt reporting
Provide safety guidance to operational business units
Undertake special projects and perform other duties as required.
Attend staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
Job Requirements
5+ years' experience in operational safety risk management/cabin safety / workplace safety in aviation fields
Ability and willingness to travel is a must
