Job Summary & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain efficient, robust software for new and existing metrology systems
- Translate customer needs into software requirements
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
- Quickly analyze and resolve issues reported by internal and external customers
- Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
- Understand metrology tool platforms and technologies from a systems perspective
- Demonstrate effective communication skills within a diverse team
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong programming and software engineering skills
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, numerical methods, and analytical problem-solving
- Experience developing software for scientific, engineering, or data-intensive applications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
Preferred Education and Experience
- PhD or advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- Experience developing software in C++
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques and applications
- Experience working with local Large Language Models (LLMs), on-premises AI solutions, or edge AI deployments
- Experience with numerical analysis, scientific computing, and mathematical modeling
- Experience developing algorithms for complex engineering or metrology application
