Senior Software Engineer, Financial Platform

You'll engineer sophisticated and scalable backend systems that manage financial data and transactions efficiently and securely.

• Build backend systems that support robust, scalable financial data and transaction processing.

• Partner with Product Management, Design, and other Engineering teams to improve product functionality, meet customer needs, and work within regulatory requirements.

• Improve product requirements through product insight and data-driven feedback, strengthening system robustness and scalability.

• Raise financial data integrity by implementing and enhancing checks and processes that maintain accuracy and consistency.

• Protect user data and transactions by applying security best practices and preventing unauthorised access.

• You have a strong foundation in backend software engineering, with expertise in languages such as Java, Kotlin, or equivalent.

• You leverage data to make informed decisions and enhance platform effectiveness.

• You have a deep understanding of customer and financial data needs, guiding your approach to software development.

• You work collaboratively, share knowledge, and embrace diverse perspectives to achieve collective goals.

• You're eager to learn new skills and technologies and adapt quickly to changes in the fintech landscape.

• You're focused on security, particularly protecting user data and preventing unauthorised access.

The Financial Platform team is the core engine powering Airwallex's global expansion. We own the fundamental financial stack, including the Client Wallet, Transaction Processing Engine, and Internal Ledger. Together, these mission-critical systems manage real-time balances, account for every transaction, and execute global settlements at massive scale. Our mandate is to safeguard financial integrity and ensure absolute precision across all settlements while scaling our infrastructure to fuel hyper-growth.
