About the Role:

The Senior Research Analyst I is part of the APAC Polymer Research & Analysis team and supports the delivery of market insights and commercial products. The role focuses on maintaining models and databases, producing regular reports, and responding to client inquiries. It reports to the Research and Analysis Associate Director.

About the Team:

Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, enables stakeholders in the global chemical industry to improve operational efficiency with deep insights, future outlooks, price discovery and consultation from a celebrated team of subject matter experts. We offer short- and long-term market coverage for more than 200 core building-block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top-tier events held around the globe. The worldwide chemical industry looks to Chemical Market Analytics to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain. 

You Will:
  • Maintain and regularly update the CMA database and analytical models, including supply/demand and econometric models, with the potential to revamp and enhance them as needed.

  • Prepare and ensure timely and accurate publication of weekly and monthly reports.

  • Create charts, data visualizations, and PowerPoint presentations for client meetings and internal briefings.

  • Respond to client inquiries promptly, providing data-driven insights and support as required.

  • Conduct research and draft written reports on industry developments when assigned.

  • Co-ordinate with the global team to ensure alignment and consistency of products.

  • Contribute to development of new commercial products or enhancement of existing commercial products.

You Have:
  • 2-4 years industry experience, preferably in the chemical industry.

  • An engineering degree is preferable.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines and with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of

  • Mandarin Chinese would be an advantage.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including advanced level expertise in Microsoft Excel.
