ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Renewable Energy Consultant to lead project delivery, support business growth, and provide technical expertise across renewable energy projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
This position is suitable for an experienced consultant who can independently manage customer relationships, lead multidisciplinary project teams, deliver high-quality technical advisory services, and contribute to DNV's continued growth in the renewable energy sector.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project developers, investors, lenders, and asset owners in making critical investment decisions by identifying project risks, evaluating technical assumptions, and developing practical mitigation strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Delivery
- Serve as Project Manager and technical lead for renewable energy advisory projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and ensure successful project execution.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to DNV quality standards.
- Manage project scope, resources, schedules, profitability, and customer expectations.
- Coordinate technical specialists across multiple engineering disciplines.
Technical Advisory Services
- Lead technical due diligence assignments for lenders, investors, developers, and asset owners.
- Deliver feasibility studies, owner's engineering, independent engineering, and project development advisory services.
- Review project designs, energy yield assessments, resource assessments, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and project schedules.
- Identify technical, commercial, construction, operational, and contractual risks and develop mitigation measures.
- Perform site inspections and evaluate renewable energy project performance and risks.
- Provide expert technical support for solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), hybrid systems, and other renewable energy technologies.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, lenders, investors, utilities, government agencies, and other industry stakeholders.
- Support proposal preparation, technical-commercial discussions, and contract negotiations.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets.
- Support the achievement of team revenue, utilization, and profitability targets.
- Represent DNV at conferences, industry events, and customer workshops.
People & Knowledge Development
- Mentor and coach junior consultants and engineers.
- Contribute to capability development and knowledge sharing across the regional team.
- Support continuous improvement of methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Contribute to technical publications, white papers, webinars, and conference presentations.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in renewable energy consulting, project development, EPC, owner's engineering, technical advisory, financing, or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy projects, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or hybrid systems.
- Experience leading client-facing projects and managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy project development, financing, construction, and operations.
- Experience conducting technical due diligence, feasibility studies, lender advisory, or owner's engineering services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and business development capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese would be considered an advantage.
- Ability and willingness to travel for works throughout the Asia-Pacific region
