Department Overview

The Operations & Trade Support department perform efficient day-to-day administrative and operational functions of a business. They implement processes, ensure helpful services for customers, and perform the primary tasks of the organization.

Trade Support assists the trading desk and the operations team on a daily basis, dealing with any issues/tasks which may arise and to make sure they are dealt with in a professional and fluent manner. 

Job Overview

Operations carry out the designated day-to-day tasks to ensure the business operates efficiently and effectively. Focusing on Payments and Reconciliations, the role ensures the company mitigates financial risk and provides a valued service to its clients.
 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

MonFX Settlements

  • Liaise with Clients, Brokers and Banks to facilitate settlement of FX transactions and cash flows

  • Account and trade reconciliation and remediation

  • Inward/Outward payment entry

  • High standard payment error investigation and resolution

  • Timely preparation and reconciliation of the month end report for Finance

  • Perform monthly reports in accordance with Monetary Authority of Singapore submissions

  • Provide support and assistance in the daily handover for the Monex Group Operation Teams

  • Update and manage the day-to-day tasks without supervision

  • Proactive in team meetings suggesting relevant ideas and motions

  • Efficiently collaborate with developers to establish the organisation's technical vision and analyse usability and performance needs

  • Provide effective enhancements and ideas for production environment

  • Handle relevant client queries when necessary and seek support if needed

  • Performing administrative duties at best of ability, including answering phones, completing the daily checklist and business as usual activities

  • To be ever ready to assist and undertake in all ad-hoc tasks assigned

  • Supporting the Head of Operations with the enforcement of company policies and standards

  • Analyse requests for draw down, rolls, margin utilisation, 3rd party approvals and cooperate with relevant departments for the respective Client trades and payments

  • Perform training presentations and guidance to provide better understanding of Operations procedures to our peers;

  • Oversight account liquidity suggesting appropriate resolutions when required;

  • Build resilience in operations and still meet regular reporting and reconciliations;

  • Takes care, uses high attention to detail and extensive payment knowledge for the release of client and company payments.

MonFX Pay Support

  • MonFX Pay Client onboarding

  • Monitoring of support desk queries

  • Answering support telephone calls

  • Replying to support emails

  • MonFX Pay demonstrations for clients and staff

  • Support Traders and Salespeople with their respective Clients

  • Telephone walkthroughs to complete specific tasks

  • Follow up and pursue unsettled trades with Clients and dedicated Trader

  • Monitor positive client balances and chase Client payment instructions

  • Put forward recommendations for procedures to improve performance of MonFX Pay

  • Ensure positive Client experience through high quality service and communication to attain Client retention

  • Greet customers warmly and ascertain problem or reason for calling

  • Update and propose solutions to Head of Operations for system malfunctions

  • Provide assistance in Client investigations and completion

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience working within a regulated firm

  • Strong knowledge of Global and jurisdiction: Banking, currency, country and Payment Regulations etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment in which an FX firm and payment service provider operates

  • Clear grasp of the objectives and importance of risk management and compliance in regulated environments

  • Solid knowledge of FX markets, payments and derivative products

  • Advanced experience of International Payments, and different mediums of transfer i.e. SWIFT

  • Proficiency in performing accounting reconciliations

  • Ability to provide FX product solutions for internal processes and prospect clients on settlement of currencies

  • Strong aptitude for developing banking/brokering relationships and providers for communication channels

  • Forward thinking approach for operational analysis on innovative client processes

  • Capability to recommend and implement system enhancements to build a strong operational infrastructure for both client portal and internal processes

  • High level of currency and country regulation knowledge for FX products and payments

  • Ability to plan and implement cost effective initiatives relating to operational charges
