What you will be responsible for:
- Air Network Design, Air Network Planning & Implementation
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term air network roadmaps aligned with business demand, peak seasons, and operational constraints, including fleet and slot availability.
- Create network design artifacts (e.g., High-Level Design – HLD; Concept of Operations – ConOps) covering lanes, schedules, and handover points.
- Run scenario modeling (best/expected/worst case) to evaluate capacity, resilience, and cost-to-serve, and recommend route adjustments or additional lift as needed.
- Analyze and optimize air freight networks to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
- Plan and manage cargo capacity to meet demand, factoring in aircraft type, scheduling, and seasonal fluctuations.
- Standardize planning templates and SOPs to ensure repeatable, auditable delivery across regions.
- Stakeholder engagement including liaison with Field Ops Managing International Air Linehaul, Strategic Network Alliances, Business Planning, Program & Project Management, Business Continuity/ Crisis Management Leadership.
- Work closely with airlines, ground handlers, customs authorities, and other stakeholders to coordinate and streamline air freight operations
- Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, and strategic network partners to coordinate changes and secure capacity.
- Communicate clearly across internal and external stakeholders; align on deliverables, readiness, and acceptance criteria.
- Stay informed about international air freight regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards to ensure compliance and smooth operations.
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and systems and implement changes to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency.
- lead end-to-end project planning and implementation for network changes (new lanes, retimes, aircraft swaps) including milestones, dependencies, and stage gates.
- Maintain project tracker, risk registers and mitigation plans; track weekly progress and variances; publish regular updates for stakeholders.
- Operations Research, Product Launches, QDM, Service Quality, QPI, Ops Excellence, Operations Technology & Systems, P&P Process Compliance.
- Utilize and implement technology solutions, such as capacity management systems and shipment tracking tools, to enhance operational efficiency and visibility.
- Identify potential risks in air freight operations and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
- Optimize utilization by leveraging data to propose optimization solution and minimize waste in the network
You will be a great fit if you have:
- Relevant at least 7 years of experience in air freight planning, logistics, or a related field is typically required. Experience with international logistics is often an asset.
- A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field is often required. Advanced degrees or certifications may be preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for assessing and optimizing air freight operations.
- Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with diverse stakeholders and conveying complex information clearly.
- Familiarity with relevant software and technology tools used in air freight planning and logistics.
- Understanding of international air freight regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Given the precision required in air freight operations, attention to detail is critical to avoid errors and ensure smooth cargo movements.
- The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, such as weather disruptions, regulatory changes, or unexpected events, is important in the dynamic field of air freight planning and engineering.
- Project & Resource Management
- Lead end‑to‑end project planning for multiple concurrent network implementation initiatives
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and dependencies
