Job Description - Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations

Some organisations split people into two tracks: those who do strategy, and those who run operations. We think that’s a false choice — the people who move a business are the ones who can form the view, make the call, and then run what they built. This role is designed for exactly that person.

You will be the founding member of a new Strategy & Operations team in the Singapore team, working directly with the General Manager to determine where the business goes next — and then making it happen. The remit is the work that shapes the future of the business: new revenue lines to be built from scratch, commercial partnerships to be struck, and new businesses to be owned and grown once launched. You lead initiatives from assessment through commercial negotiation to launch.

You Will

Shape where the business plays next

  • Work directly with the GM on the strategic agenda for Singapore: which new revenue streams to build, which partnerships to pursue, and which opportunities to walk away from.
  • Assess new business areas from the ground up — market sizing, competitive read, unit economics — and turn assessments into decisions with clear recommendations to senior management.
  • Take strategic initiatives from concept to launch: structure the commercials, negotiate with external partners, scope the build with Product and launch with Marketing.
  • Take full P&L ownership of business lines that are critical to the growth of the company.

Raise how the business runs

  • Act as an internal consultant to the business lines: bring structure, analysis and momentum to the highest-leverage problems across the organisation, working alongside the teams that own them.
  • Build the frameworks and reporting through which the business is steered — from customer-lifecycle and growth frameworks to the performance views used with senior management.

RequirementsYou Are
  • 8+ years across strategy consulting, e-commerce, fintech, payments or consumer tech — with time spent both setting direction and delivering it
  • You have launched something real inside a larger organisation — a new business line, product or venture — and seen it through launch and early growth, with accountability for its results, not just its plan.
  • Experience incubating a business area: you know what it takes to go from zero to working, and how to build what works into a durable business line.
  • Strong commercial instincts and negotiation experience — comfortable structuring and closing partnership deals with external parties.
  • Sharp analytical foundation: you build your own view from data, pressure-test the economics, and change your mind when the numbers say so.
  • Proven people leadership — you have built and led teams, and you will lead this one from day one, growing it as the function scales.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and breadth. Direct exposure to GM- and C-level decision-making, and no playbook to follow.
