As Senior Manager, Regional Public Relations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Funding Societies’ corporate image and narrative across Southeast Asia. Reporting to the Group COO, this high-impact, individual contributor role is responsible for development and execution of strategic PR campaigns that enhance our visibility and thought leadership in the fintech space. 

This role is ideal for a seasoned PR leader with a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of the financial technology landscape, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across diverse markets. The ideal candidate brings a strong network of media relationships across key Southeast Asian markets (with a focus in Singapore) and has a proven ability to influence narratives through trusted press engagement and thought leadership positioning.

What you will do: 

Strategic Communications & Planning

  • Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies aligned with the company’s vision, business goals, and brand positioning across the Southeast Asia region.
  • Design integrated communication plans to support product launches, executive visibility, fundraising, and market expansion.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and competitor activity to proactively shape communications strategy.
  • Leverage GenAI tools, where relevant, to enhance content development, media monitoring, and campaign efficiency.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns using defined success metrics (e.g., share of voice, media sentiment, engagement, amplification), leveraging data and tools to continuously optimize messaging, reach, and impact.

Corporate & Executive Communications

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, crafting high-quality executive talking points, speeches, op-eds, and internal communications.
  • Collaborate with executives to amplify their presence and thought leadership through strategic speaking opportunities, media features, and industry events.
  • Ensure a consistent, compelling corporate narrative across all public-facing channels and platforms.

Crisis & Issues Management

  • Collaborate with management to drive crisis communication plans, ensure real-time and strategic response to mitigate any potential impact on the company’s reputation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for reputational issues, media escalations, and high-stakes communications.
  • Implement best practices in issue management to protect and strengthen corporate reputation during sensitive moments.

Media Relations

  • Lead and execute regional media relations by drafting press releases, managing inquiries, and coordinating interviews and briefings to ensure consistent, impactful coverage.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key financial, tech, and business media across Singapore, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian markets to support trusted, long-term engagement.
  • Drive a modern media strategy by integrating digital-first platforms, paid media amplification, and influencer/KOL partnerships to broaden reach and elevate brand storytelling.

Reputation Management

  • Monitor public sentiment, media narratives, and online chatter to identify emerging issues and manage reputational risk.
  • Oversee regional PR agency relationships to ensure alignment, delivery, and consistency of brand messaging across all markets.
  • Guide the company’s long-term reputation strategy, integrating both traditional and digital communication channels.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to nominate the company for reputable awards and lists to amplify the firm's corporate brand

Collaboration & Internal Alignment

  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Brand, Legal, Risk, and People teams to ensure clear, consistent, and aligned messaging or external communications
  • Support internal communications during key business changes, milestones, or initiatives that require employee awareness and alignment.
  • Manage and mentor the regional PR team, fostering a culture of excellence, agility, and continuous learning.
Requirements

What we are looking for: 

  • 8+ years of experience in PR, Corporate Comms, or Strategic Comms, preferably with a combination of in-house (in FinTech, Tech or Finance) and agency experience.
  • Proven track record of executing successful PR campaigns across multiple countries in Asia.
  • Strong relationships with key media outlets in SG and MY; regional exposure preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to craft compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate independently at a senior level.
  • Proven experience handling crisis communications and media relations across Southeast Asia.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and adapting to evolving business needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Master's is a plus.
