Position Summary
The Senior Global Quality Manager is responsible for leading and executing the global quality strategy across manufacturing sites and supplier networks in the Asian region. With a primary focus on automotive OEM and Tier 1 clients - ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, strengthens customer relationships, and safeguarding product integrity across global operations.
The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure quality performance meets or exceeds customer expectations while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Oversee the Quality team in India to support the Quality operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Automotive Quality Leadership
- Serve as the primary quality interface in the Asian region for global automotive OEM and Tier 1 customers.
- Lead customer audits, quality reviews, and escalation management.
- Ensure compliance with automotive-specific standards including IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements (CSR).
- Oversee resolution of customer complaints using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, A3, root cause analysis).
- Drive continuous improvement in CCAR - PPM performance, warranty reduction, and customer scorecards.
Global Quality Systems & Compliance
- Lead global implementation and governance of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Responsibility for the Company data card
- Lead the interface and deployment of QMS software to all Divisions.
- Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC requirements.
- Oversee internal and external audit programs across global sites.
- Drive standardization of quality processes across regions.
Operational Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with plant leadership to improve first-pass yield, scrap reduction, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
- Implement preventive quality strategies and risk mitigation plans.
- Lead cross-functional corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
Supplier Quality Management
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality teams to improve supplier performance.
- Lead supplier audits and development programs.
- Manage supplier-related quality escalations impacting automotive customers.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop regional quality managers and site-level quality teams.
- Build global quality capability through training and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
- Experience managing global customer relationships within automotive OEM or Tier 1 environments.
- Proven track record of improving customer PPM, audit scores, and operational quality metrics.
- Six Sigma certification (Black Belt preferred).
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.
