About DayOne Data Centers

DayOne Data Centers is a Singapore-headquartered global digital infrastructure platform that develops and operates next-generation data centers across Asia Pacific and Europe. Trusted by leading hyperscalers and businesses, the company engineers, builds, and operates high-capacity, AI-ready campuses with speed, scale, and reliability.

Based in Singapore, you'll help lead DayOne's corporate communications centrally across all our markets. Your remit will cover corporate communications, media relations, issues and crisis communications, executive communications, narrative development and reputation management. We're looking for a strong communications generalist who can handle high-stakes work while coordinating country teams and agencies. We'll appoint at Director or Senior Manager level depending on experience. At Director level, you'll also lead the function as it grows: setting direction, managing people, advising senior leadership and building the team.

Corporate Narrative and Messaging

  • Develop and deliver corporate communications plans that strengthen, protect and consistently express DayOne's narrative across markets.
  • Build messaging frameworks for market entries, project milestones, strategic agreements, ESG and community initiatives, partnerships and other corporate developments.

Media Relations

  • Lead media strategy across business, technology, trade and international media.
  • Oversee press releases, statements, responses, Q&As, pitching, briefings, interviews and media roundtables.
  • Oversee multi-market media monitoring and provide concise intelligence on emerging issues, narrative trends and opportunities.

Issues, Crisis and Executive Communications

  • Lead the development of issues and crisis materials, including holding statements, messaging, Q&As, escalation protocols and response plans.
  • Advise senior leaders and country teams on communications risk, message framing, timing, spokesperson approach and the right level of response.
  • Develop executive communications, including speeches, talking points, op-eds, commentary, leadership messages and briefing materials.

Multi-Market Coordination

  • Coordinate communications centrally across our markets, so local activity reflects group context, approved narratives and consistent standards.
  • Partner with regional Marketing & Communications leads and local teams to gather market intelligence and manage local implementation.
  • Direct PR agencies and specialist partners across markets, challenging weak recommendations and holding output to a high standard.
  • Work closely with Content, Marketing, Government Relations, HR, project and technical teams.

Leadership (Director Level)

  • Act as a trusted deputy to the Head of Marketing & Communications on reputation, media and corporate narrative.
  • Lead and coach the communications team as it grows, and design its operating model across corporate, strategic, media, issues, executive and internal communications.
  • Set standards for judgement, writing, escalation, agency management and market coordination.
Requirements
  • 12+ years' experience for Director level, or 8+ years for Senior Manager level, in corporate communications, PR or strategic communications.
  • Broad generalist experience across media relations, issues management, executive communications and strategic messaging.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial judgement for high-stakes materials, with the ability to simplify complex technical, business or regulatory topics without losing accuracy.
  • Experience handling sensitive issues, crisis situations or challenging media enquiries, including knowing when to respond, what not to say and when to escalate.
  • Experience coordinating communications across multiple countries and time zones from a regional or global centre.
  • Confident working directly with executives, subject-matter experts, country leaders, agencies and cross-functional partners.
  • For Director level: clear evidence of leading a communications team or function, setting direction and advising senior leadership.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Writing samples will be requested during the process.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a complex international B2B or regulated sector, such as infrastructure, energy, technology or telecommunications.
  • Experience in a fast-growing organisation.
