Are you a Senior Legal Counsel with a strong background in the payments industry?
Come join us as our in-house Senior Legal Counsel at Thredd in our Singapore office. You’ll be involved our expansion, working closely with teams across the business to deliver practical legal solutions and ensure we remain compliant and competitive as we scale.
You’ll be the trusted advisor for a wide range of legal matters-whether you’re negotiating high-value client, issuer, and supplier agreements, or helping to develop efficient legal processes that keep us agile. Your strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities will make you a go-to resource for both day-to-day legal queries and strategic business decisions.
What you'll do
- Deliver practical, risk-based legal advice and support to teams across Thredd on matters such as data protection, international regulation, confidentiality, IP, privacy, and data security.
- Lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of a wide range of commercial contracts, including Card Processing Agreements, Issuer Agreements, NDAs, Data Sharing/Processing Agreements, Partner and Strategic Partner Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, and Supplier Agreements.
- Handle ad hoc corporate transaction documents, shareholder agreements, and other corporate legal matters.
- Evaluate and advise on new markets and territories to support Thredd’s global expansion.
- Stay current with all relevant laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Proactively identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks and liabilities.
- Create legal templates and drive the development of efficient legal processes.
- Collaborate with the broader team to share regulatory updates and enable transparent legal support.
- Advise on employment law issues as needed.
- Provide clear legal and strategic guidance to business units and management.
- Clarify legal language and specifications, especially regarding GDPR, data protection, and information security.
- Assess and advise on legal risks during product development and after launch.
- Deliver training on legal developments and topics as required.
- Support and drive special projects as needed.
What you'll need
Singapore Qualified lawyer
Experience within a commercial setting.
In-house experience within a payment technology company.
International and/or legal entity experience.
Experience with regulatory and compliance reviews.
Firm understanding of data security regulations, especially regarding personally identifiable information.
Sound legal and practical business judgment.
Superb contract drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a high volume of projects and meet tight deadlines.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Confident in creating templates and setting up processes independently.

This role is a hybrid role with 50% of the time in the Singapore office.
