Job Description SummaryThe Senior Lean Leader is responsible for driving the deployment of Lean transformation across the site, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and waste elimination. This role partners closely with plant leadership and functional managers to deliver breakthrough results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development, while building organizational capability in Lean practices and behaviors.
The Senior Lean Leader will act as both a strategic change agent and hands-on practitioner, ensuring alignment with the company’s global Lean strategy while tailoring approaches to the site’s specific needs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Lean Strategy & Deployment

  • Develop, lead, and execute the site’s Lean roadmap aligned with corporate and business objectives.
  • Partnering with the Plant Leader and leadership team to integrate Lean principles into daily management, Lean Vision & policy deployment (Hoshin Kanri), and operating rhythms.
  • Champion the use of problem-solving & lean tools (RCA, Kaizen, VSM, Standard Work, 5S, TPM, etc.) across all functions.
  • Challenge norms and lead breakthroughs

Manufacturing Shopfloor Transformation & Lean Leadership

  • Lead & coordinate overall shopfloor transformation initiatives partnering with the Operations & functional Managers, reporting to the Plant Leader
  • Lead Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) Supervisors, Champions & Team to expedite the creation of the Lean Lines for Capacity expansion
  • Expand capabilities & upgrade current KPO team to establish Moonshine capabilities partnering with key stakeholders (eg. universal fixtures/shuttle design drawing & fabrication, right-sized equipment, fabrication, integration of automation in lean lines)

Operational Excellence

  • Facilitate and lead Kaizen events and wing to wing value stream transformations to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Drive timely completion for Kaizen actions, working together with the Lean Leaders
  • Establish/Enhance a robust Lean Daily Management System (DMS) for the site and ensure adherence at all levels.
  • Partner with global teams from Materials, Procurement, Optimization, Special Process, Engineering, Maintenance, Productivity, Lean to optimize production through pull system to ensure on-time delivery
  • Drive WIP Inventory reduction, drive wing-to-wing lead time reduction, achieve productivity target, perform total productivity maintenance
  • Read across best practices and support kaizen activities for assigned regional repair facilities

Coaching & Capability Building

  • Coach managers, engineers and supervisors in Lean leadership behaviors, Lean theory & practical skills, and effective problem solving.
  • Build Lean capability and self-sufficiency across the workforce through structured training, certification programs, and mentoring.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, employee empowerment, and respect for people.
  • Conduct Lean training sessions for Supervisors, Engineers and managers on regular basis to build holistic lean understanding (both theory & practical) & helps to build the culture of continuous learning.
  • Promote practical Kaizen in shopfloor through structured training and mentorship program (eg. KPO training)
  • Mentor the Lean Leaders in the plant

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or any other relevant Engineering disciplines.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in Operations / Lean / Technical.
