Role Summary and Impact
The Senior Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance functions. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and the outsourced finance team (WPP FinancePlus, Malaysia) to ensure accurate financial operations, timely, and support business decision-making and drive process improvements.
This role will report to: Financial Director, Group Reporting Team
Skills and Experience
What you will do:
Financial Reporting & Control
- Manage month-end closing, group reporting, and statutory reporting
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data
- Maintain compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies (ICFR)
- Interpret financial data and provide insights to management
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
- Deliver actionable insights to support business decisions
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with senior management and cross-functional teams
- Liaise with regional finance teams and outsourced finance partners
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to the business
- Build strong working relationships and act as a finance business partner
Compliance & Audit
- Lead internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Oversee risk management and internal controls
- Oversee compliance-related activities and reporting requirements
Operational Oversight
- Supervise day-to-day finance operations
- Provide guidance to finance team and outsourced partners
- Drive accountability and performance within the team
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation
- Standardize financial processes and reporting frameworks
- Support system enhancements and transformation initiatives
- Maintain reporting frameworks aligned with group standards
Strategic & Project Involvement
- Provide financial insights for commercial and operational decisions
- Support M&A activities and strategic projects
- Contribute to long-term financial planning and growth strategies
- Support commercial/media teams with financial guidance
Key Milestones
First 3 Months
- Understand WPP policies, reporting systems, and ICFR guidelines
- Review and guide FinancePlus on reporting processes
- Build relationships with key stakeholders
Within 6 Months
- Deliver financial insights to management
- Manage budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Monitor performance and provide analytical insights
- Lead audit and compliance processes
Within 12 Months
- Act as trusted finance advisor to business teams
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements
- Lead M&A finance initiatives
- Maintain group reporting standards and frameworks
What you will need:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA / CA or equivalent professional certification preferred
Experience
- 5+ years in accounting, financial reporting, or similar roles
- Experience managing a team
- Background in audit or large MNCs is advantageous
