Responsibilities:

  • Achieve workshop turnover budget utilizing the resources i.e. workshop staff, equipment, special tools, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Collaborate with Technical / Training Department to identify technician’s training needs, develop training plan and its requirement ensuring their knowledge and skill level meet up to Principals’ requirements.
  • Ensure delivery of consistent quality workmanship from the shop floor to meet customers’ expectations / promised delivery time. Perform random audit checks on the technicians’ quality of work done.
  • Ensure scrap parts (metal / non-metallic) are stored properly and arranging with VAL-appointed “scrap vendor” for disposal.
  • Ensure warranty procedures are adhered to and practices are in accordance with respective Principals’ requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews on repetitive technical, product, and quality issues and liaise with VAL Technical Dept. to find a resolution.
  • Conduct regular staff performance appraisal and counseling (disciplinary, if any) to under-achiever improves and meets monthly target performance (sold hours).
  • Monitor and review periodically on roll-over vehicles status/return job (RJ) and backorder parts status (link to roll-over cars)
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace at all times such as upkeeping workshop areas cleanliness and tidiness and conducting weekly ToolBox meetings.
  • Support Foreman / CSA to conduct test drives to establish customers’ concerns when necessary.
  • Assist and support Asst. Manager, Service & Operations in all matter as when required relating to customers’ issues in order to resolve promptly.
  • Manage Special Vehicles operation workflow by working closely with the PIC Special Vehicle Division (MINDEF / ST Engineering)
  • Adhere to any projects or tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • NTC 2 in Automotive Technology (Light Vehicle) or higher educational level Certification of Motors Trade Industry
  • At least 7 years in automotive trade service/repair.
  • 2 years in a supervision position.
  • Basic Product Training
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good management and supervisory skills
