Payments Partnerships Lead 

Adyen is looking for a Payments Partnerships lead to manage regional card and alternative payment method partners including Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, Wechat Pay, etc with an additional focus on the SEA and Hong Kong markets. In this role, you will lead a high-impact team to build strong inroads into our payment partners and be the subject matter experts for payment methods within SEA and Hong Kong. You will also work closely with a broad range of  cross-functional stakeholders internally to drive products and key initiatives. This is a full-time position based in our Singapore office reporting into our APAC Head of Partnerships.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Partnerships Management: Build and nurture relationships with card schemes and alternative payment methods that have a regional presence. Define and execute a proactive partnership strategy for a portfolio of critical card network partners. Negotiate complex agreements and drive alignment with partners and internal stakeholders to ensure Adyen remains at the forefront of payments innovation. 
  • Lead, Coach, Inspire: Manage and coach a team of talented Payments Partnerships Managers, helping them grow our relationships with key partners. Foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment with open communication and constructive feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, commercial and finance teams to define and execute go-to-market strategies. Provide market insights to accelerate product development and commercialization efforts.

Who you are

  • You have a strong understanding of both cards and alternative payments with 8+ years experience managing strategic partnerships in the payments industry. Experience in merchant acquiring is strongly preferred.
  • You understand the SEA and Hong Kong payments markets.
  • You have prior leadership experience and strong ability to lead/mentor direct reports to develop their payments knowledge and skills. You excel at coaching and performance management.
  • You have exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders across different functions and organizational levels.
  • You have a strategic mindset paired with the ability to make data-driven decisions and execute operationally.
  • You are innovative, love dealing with ambiguity and have strong problem-solving capabilities.
