The Senior Manager, Applications Scientist will act as a scientific concierge for current and potential users of our technology, providing scientific presentations, virtual and on-site training for clients, and technical support of SomaLogic's core products and data. The work requires attention to detail, strong understanding of SomaLogic's core and associated technologies, and a deep understanding of client applications.

The Senior Manager, Applications Scientist will be responsible for four direct reports, and will report directly to the Vice President & Commercial General Manager, APAC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Support and train external clients in utilising the SomaLogic core technologies.
• Perform light activities related to equipment installation and inspection in a laboratory setting.
• Deliver technology presentations to potential clients.
• Develop strong relationships with customers.
• Troubleshoot protocols being run in client labs.
• Leverage customer feedback to shape future product development.
• Support our commercial team and our customers with technical knowledgebase and problem solving.
• Represent the business at conferences and trade shows.
• Train sales team members on messaging, as appropriate.
• Respond to and document technical inquiries in SomaLogic’s Salesforce system.
• Additional responsibilities as directed by the Vice President & Commercial General Manager, APAC.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences or related field required, with an advanced degree being preferred.
• 10 years laboratory experience required, with molecular biology or biochemistry experience with nucleic acid or protein research techniques desired.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries preferred.
• Experience leading a team, as well as experience training others desired.
• Strong communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.
• Demonstrated understanding and technical mastery of the needs of scientific customers and core laboratories including experience with successful technology applications and study designs.
• Familiarity with data processing and analysis tools and techniques, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and work effectively on various assignments.
• Good organizational and planning skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to travel up to 30% required.
