Senior Consultant, Technical Risk and Safety

Job Responsibilities:

Functional job responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Support technical safety and risk projects involving risk analysis, modeling, calculations and providing sound advise to address client concerns.

  • Deliver high-quality, technically sound analyses and studies, including but not limited to Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), risk calculations, safety assessments, cost-benefit evaluations, and other studies.

  • Review safety studies developed by third parties, e.g., FERA, dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, dropped objects study, QRA studies, etc.

  • Participate in risk and safety workshops (HAZIDS, HAZOPS, ALARP).

  • Support development of technical safety documentation such as hazardous area classification layouts, safety and fire fighting layouts, fire and gas detection strategies, lifesaving equipment and Safety Critical Element performance standards.

  • Innovating and develop design solutions to reduce risks, improve performance, and enhance safety in operations.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, supporting clients in navigating regulatory requirements and implementing best practices for technical and process safety.

  • Ensure timely high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations for scope and budget.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.

  • At least 7 years of experience in Technical Safety/Process Safety/Safety Engineering, with projects under various local, regional, and national regulatory standards.

  • Experience with advisory/consulting firms, with demonstrated capability to manage client relationships, lead teams and grow the business.

  • Professional memberships (IChemE, AIChE) and functional and process safety certifications (TUV, CFSP/CFSE, etc.) are a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate technical insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
