The Senior Analyst will manage rights clearances across APAC for Spotify, negotiating licenses and ensuring accurate rights data, while advising teams on content usage.
As a Senior Analyst, Global Rights and Clearances, you’ll lead end-to-end rights clearances across APAC—negotiating and securing the permissions needed for Spotify-produced content and campaigns on and off platform. You’ll work with a high level of ownership, partnering directly with local and regional rights holders to keep projects moving while managing risk thoughtfully.
You’ll handle a mix of large-scale and one-off licenses for third-party content used in productions such as live performances, performance footage, marketing, events, and Spotify Studios projects. You’ll also ensure rights information is captured accurately—negotiating terms and fees, maintaining cue sheets, and tracking approvals through our clearance and rights management tools.
In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner to teams across the business, providing clear, practical guidance on third-party content usage and helping teams make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end rights clearances across APAC, from intake through negotiation, execution, and final approvals for Spotify-produced content and campaigns
- Negotiate and secure licenses for third-party content (including music, audiovisual, imagery, and performance footage) across productions, marketing, events, and Spotify Studios projects
- Advise partners across Music, Studios, Brand & Creative, and Marketing on rights strategy, feasibility, usage terms, and risk for initiatives such as RADAR, Green Screen, K-Pop ON!, and Wrapped
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional and global rights holders to resolve complex clearance issues efficiently
- Ensure rights data is accurate and up to date by managing cue sheets, tracking terms/fees, and maintaining records in clearance and rights management systems
- Coordinate timelines and priorities across multiple concurrent projects, balancing speed, compliance, and business goals
- Vet, onboard, and manage external vendors supporting clearance workflows and rights-tracking tools
- Share best practices and help improve processes that make clearances more scalable across APAC
Who You Are
- You have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in entertainment, media, and/or digital content, with hands-on rights clearances and licensing work (in-house or agency/vendor)
- You have a strong working knowledge of synchronization, content rights, and the APAC rights landscape (including local market practices and key stakeholders)
- You bring established relationships with local and regional rights holders across APAC, and know how to build trust quickly with new partners
- You’re comfortable owning work independently, making sound judgment calls, and escalating thoughtfully when needed
- You have strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, and can translate legal/rights concepts into practical guidance
- You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to run multiple workstreams in parallel without losing track of the details
- You take a proactive, solutions-focused approach and stay calm when priorities shift
- You’re confident working across time zones and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment
Where You'll Be
- This role is based in Sydney, Australia or Singapore.
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
- We ask that you come in 2–3 times per week.
- This role primarily collaborates during APAC business hours, with flexibility to partner with global teams across time zones.
