The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable and sustainable growth of NOV Rig Technologies’ capital equipment and aftermarket business by developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and promoting NOV equipment, solutions, and services.
The role serves as a key focal point for assigned customers, understanding their capital equipment and aftermarket requirements and developing appropriate solutions to meet their operational and business needs.
The position is focused on achieving sales targets, strengthening NOV’s market position, growing market share, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through effective coordination and execution of customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Drive direct sales of Rig Technologies drilling equipment, capital equipment, aftermarket products, solutions, and services to achieve assigned sales and business growth targets.
- Serve as the primary focal point for assigned customers, building and maintaining strong relationships while understanding their capital equipment and aftermarket requirements.
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within assigned customers, regions, and markets to grow NOV’s capital equipment and aftermarket business.
- Develop customer-specific commercial proposals and coordinate with quotation and technical teams to deliver accurate, competitive, and timely quotations.
- Conduct customer meetings, sales presentations, and commercial discussions to effectively position NOV equipment, technologies, solutions, and services.
- Manage and coordinate customer orders, working with relevant internal teams to ensure customer requirements, commitments, and deliverables are effectively addressed.
- Monitor customer requirements, market developments, competitor activities, pricing trends, and industry conditions to identify opportunities and support market-share growth.
- Develop and maintain annual and quarterly sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, customer visit reports, Aftermarket, capital equipment reports, and aftermarket business updates.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve commercial matters, and support successful execution of capital equipment and aftermarket opportunities.
- Travel as required for customer meetings, business development activities, and presentations while complying with all NOV policies, procedures, HSE requirements, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any technical domain.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in technical sales, business development, account management, or a related commercial role.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in direct sales of rig equipment and aftermarket products, solutions, and/or services.
- Strong commercial and technical understanding with the ability to identify customer requirements, develop opportunities, and position appropriate equipment and aftermarket solutions.
- Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships, conduct commercial discussions, deliver sales presentations, and support proposal and quotation activities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Candidates with their own transport will be required, along with the flexibility and willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, presentations, and other business requirements.
