About the RoleApplied Materials is seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Robotics Automation Engineer & Project Manager to lead robotics innovation within our warehouse operations. This newly created role will be based in Singapore and will play a pivotal part in establishing and managing a Cobot Lab focused on automating the build of robotics solutions for custom packing boxes for high-volume daily shipments.The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in robotics engineering, hands-on experience with robotic arms and end-of-arm tooling, and a proven ability to manage cross-functional projects from concept to deployment.Key Responsibilities- Robotics Lab :
- Design, configure, and test collaborative robotic (Cobot) systems for packaging automation.
- Develop and validate robotic arm setups and tooling for real-world packaging use cases.
- Ensure operational reliability, safety, and scalability.
- Solution Development:
- Architect and implement robotics systems for material handling, sorting, and inventory workflows.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and performance validation.
- Project Management:
- Lead robotics automation projects across warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience & Skills:
- Hands-on experience with configuring robotic arms and end-of-arm tools.
- Proven track record in robotics system integration and testing.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with industrial automation standards and safety protocols.
- Experience with collaborative robots (Cobots) in logistics or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to automation in large-scale warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in robotics programming and simulation tools.
