Leads supplier RFQ activities by preparing bidding packages from engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications; managing supplier communications and deadlines; analyzing bids, tooling, logistics, and total costs; negotiating pricing and terms; maintaining ERP, PLM, supplier, and cost-model data; and tracking RFQ resources and KPIs. Collaborates with engineering, quality, customer quoting, and project management teams to resolve technical questions and support project launches.
Supplier Management
- Launch RFQ Packages: Review technical engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and specifications to build comprehensive bidding packages for suppliers.
- Manage Supplier Communications: Identify, engage vendors and maintain supplier matrix vs customers vs commodities (part families); distribute RFQ packages and strictly enforce deadline tracking.
- Conduct Cost Analyses: Evaluate and normalize complex supplier bids, comparing piece-part costs, tooling investments, and logistics expenses, provide cost comparisons on customer price challenges projects.
- Lead Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate initial pricing, payment terms, and lead times with suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Customer Quote team, Engineering, Quality, and Project Management to resolve technical questions from suppliers and meet project launch dates.
- Maintain ERP Data: Update and manage price tracking logs, supplier databases, sourcing rules and cost models within the company ERP system.
Manages RFQ resources and track and report on resource usage and RFQ related KPIs
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or cost-estimating experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of contract manufacturing environment and management of global commodity strategies through a third party provider
- Proven record of Technical Blueprint Reading: ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical manufacturing specifications.
- Strong Analytical Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong Communication & Negotiation: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a track record of driving cost savings through vendor negotiations.
- Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented, hands-on and results driven.
- Good knowledge of aspects of purchasing, supplier selection, cost analysis and negotiation, planning, master scheduling and program management
- Experience working in ERP & PLM systems; SAP and Team Center preferred, Intermediate
- Word processing/typing, presentation/PowerPoint/Power BI
