CRADLE seeks applications for the position of Research Assistant. The successful candidate will be an integral member of an inter-disciplinary research team in the Science of Learning of emerging skills (literacy and numeracy). This position requires task-orientation, excellent organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy, flexibility in responding to fluid situations, good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Experience with cognitive/neuropsychological testing and/or neuroimaging techniques (such as functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), diffusion MRI (DTI, HARDI, DSI)) is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Participant recruitment.
Data collection using psychological and neuroimaging techniques, such as cognitive testing, fNIRS and MRI.
Perform data analyses and manage data analysis pipelines under PI’s supervision.
Perform research-related administrative work, such as purchase of material/equipment for research.
Liaise and work closely with stakeholders from external institutions (including schools) and project collaborators.
Conduct literature reviews and preparing policy reports for stakeholders.
Prepare presentations and manuscripts for dissemination of findings.
Systems administration, including maintenance of network servers and data security.
Carry any other duties as required by Principal Investigator
Job Requirements:
Bachelors (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field
Possess excellent communication and written skills to perform literature reviews, write progress reports, and present research findings.
Self-motivator, able to work independently to collect data, analyse data, and communicate findings.
Proficient in statistical analysis (SPSS or R), programming language (e.g., Python, Matlab), and experience with neuroimaging software.
Willing to travel to testing sites for data collection.
Excellent organizational skills and able to work within tight deadlines.
Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed.
Prior experience with cognitive neuroscience research, neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fNIRS, MRI), and academic publication processes
