The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for inspections, documentation, supplier relations, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Role Summary:
The quality engineer will perform the documented inspections to verify the conformance of the components to applicable drawings, procedures, specifications, and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The engineer is accountable for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan according to the customer’s and Flowserve’s specifications and international standards. In addition, the engineer is responsible for defining, advising, and controlling all project-required QC documents.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Document the dimensional and visual inspections to the drawing or applicable procedures.
- Document the non-conforming material utilizing an NCR process.
- Manage relations with customer and third-party inspectors
- Visit the external suppliers and witness the tests on the castings, machined parts, or assembly following the Flowserve and/ or international standards for quality inspection.
- Review and verify the internal and external qualifications of suppliers, welders, and NDE personnel regarding Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE), welding procedures, and/or other applicable requirements.
- Review and approve the supplier’s manufacturing and testing documents/procedures and take care of approval (when required) of these documents by the internal or external customer and the authorized inspection body.
- Prepare and define test and inspection requirements for the projects such as ITP and procurement specifications.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) events
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Candidates with 1-2 years of relevant experience in quality inspection are most welcomed to apply.
- Proficient in interpreting assembly and machining drawings, with some understanding of geometry dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proper use of inspection equipment and tooling in machining, assembly, and test operations is essential.
- Knowledge of the international code (e.g., ASTM), welding, NDE, and quality systems is a plus
- Knowledge of CMM measurement is a plus
- Experience in foundry and machining process is a plus.
- Possessing non-destructive testing certification is a plus.
- Willing to learn, accurate and analytical with a positive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Diploma in mechanical engineering
