The Project Director will oversee the comprehensive delivery of the Building Management System (BMS)/Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) for a major new airport terminal. This senior leadership position is responsible for the overall strategic direction, execution, and successful completion of the project, from initial design and installation to commissioning and handover. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large-scale aviation projects and a deep understanding of complex automation and control systems, ensuring the terminal's systems are fully integrated, safe, and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the project strategy, ensuring alignment with client expectations, operational requirements, and overall business goals. Direct multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to deliver an integrated and efficient BMS/IBMS.
· Project Management: Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from design and procurement to construction, installation, and final handover. Ensure all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
· Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the project team and all stakeholders, including the airport authority, airlines, architects, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Effectively manage relationships, address concerns, and secure buy-in throughout the project.
· Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on the technical aspects of the BMS/IBMS.ensuring the system design and implementation meet all aviation-specific standards and operational requirements. Ensure seamless integration of all sub-systems, such as HVAC, lighting, access control, and fire and life safety.
· Risk and Change Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop and manage a robust change control process to effectively handle scope changes while minimizing impacts to budget and schedule.
· Safety and Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture. Ensure all project activities adhere to airport security protocols, aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, ICAO), and international safety standards.
· Financial Management: Control and monitor the project budget, track financial performance, and provide regular reporting to executive management and the client. Approve project expenditures and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate project managers and engineering teams. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
Key Experience & Capabilities:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.

A minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in large-scale project management, with significant experience in airport or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role delivering complex Building Automation or Integrated Airport Systems.

PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.

Strong understanding of industry-specific automation and control systems, technologies, and cybersecurity protocols relevant to the aviation sector.

Proven commercial acumen with experience in negotiating major contracts and managing financial performance.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire diverse teams.

Superior communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively manage relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex project challenges.

Deep knowledge of airport operational environments and regulatory requirements.

Resilience and adaptability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced project environments.
